Emma’s Dream Launch - Chicago

“The debut book of Ana Karina da Silva, a Portuguese-Venezuelan writer now living in Chicago, is aimed at children and intends to instill in them the need to dream big and pursue their deepest wishes and, by achieving this goal, to find happiness in life. Its strong message encourages the little ones to know that nothing is impossible when they put their hearts and minds to a goal. This book is also about making one's dreams come true, no matter what. Because things happen when they believe they will, and most of all if they believe in themselves.

Three Emma's dream books, stacked

The Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa once wrote in a poem that “God wills, the man dreams, the work is born”. This way, driven by divine inspiration, Ana Karina once dreamt about becoming a children’s books writer and worked hard to publish her first work. Emma’s Dream is living proof that dreams really do come true."

While on tour, Emma finds out what kids are dreaming about

After reading the book “Emma’s Dream” to kids in schools in Europe, USA, and Mexico, Ana asked them what they would like to be when growing up. To her surprise, kids all over the world said “Youtuber, Tiktoker, and billionaire”. So she asked them again what would they be doing 8 hours a day as a billionaire or youtuber. After some digging, they all said “I want to help people”.

Children have a talent and a passion, they just need the space to explore it in a fun way, so when they grow up, they can remember it.

Emma’s Dream launch in Portugal

OMG! I didn’t know what was encountering when my fairy godmother -Leda Pestana, Storyteller and event planner- told me about the book launch in Madeira, Portugal in January of 2023.

I decided to launch it in Portuguese/English because my parents were born and raise there and to our surprise the launch was in a school in the same town where they were born. The kids created an entire musical show with animation and emcees.

Another dream that came true!

Emma’s Dream workshop

A space designed for kids to explore their passions and interests.

Imagine if you could back in time to remember all the things you loved doing as a kid.

Imagine having the clarity of your inner child at your fingertips -without having to go to therapy for years to discover it!-

This workshop is designed to help your kids have a space to express and explore their passions and interests, so that when they grow up, they have more info about what truly makes them happy. Because when we turn into adults, we tend to forget about these things.

Through songs, dancing, drawing and therapy play, kids can express themselves and develop social emotional skills.

Normalizing conversations about their passions in a safe space, through pure enjoyment about different career paths and hobbies can help children be more confident towards their ambitions since early age.

So if you’re looking to inspire your child, join Emma’s Dream

“We loved Ana Karina visiting our school and introducing her inspiring story ‘Emma’s Dream’. Children in year 3 were able to empathize with the character (which can be very tricky to teach explicitly) and this was evident in the children’s emotions - some got teary! It was a very touching story that provided children the message of persevering in life and that anything is possible to achieve once you put your mind to it!

The children loved Ana’s expression whilst reading the story and it was powerful to see how her story sent out a strong message of following your dreams!

The children were excited when they met Anna, so engaged and motivated - and they are looking forward to buying a copy and sharing it at home with their families!

We will definitely be adding Emma’s Dream to our key texts for our Spanish Curriculum!”

“Ana combines a wacky sense of humor with imaginative storylines to create fun-loving stories. It was enjoyable to listen to her read her stories aloud, but it was even better to see the reactions of the kids, all deeply engaged and fascinated. She really captured their imagination.”
